On Nov. 20, UF faculty, UF researchers, organizers and the community came together to celebrate HealthStreet’s four years of improving the health of Alachua County as well as four years being at the University of Florida. HealthStreet is a community engagement program in the UF Department of Epidemiology and UF Clinical Translational Science Institute that improves the health of our community by bridging gaps in health care and health research. Event attendees were able to participate in tasty food demonstrations, craft making, dance fitness, yoga, face painting, blood pressures and various children’s activities. Organizations tabled to provide community members with local resources and access to health information.

Tabling organizations included: UF Center for Arts in Medicine, Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc., UF Student Nurse Association, WellFlorida Council Inc., UF Operation Diabetes, UF Equal Access Clinic Network, UF IFAS Extension Florida Family Nutrition Program, UF Free Therapy Night, UF Eta Sigma Gamma and the Department of Health.
